It these crazy uncertain days with everyone freaking out just remember it will get better eventually. This is not the first time in human history some crazy sickness has taken hold and spread devastation across continents, but thanks to modern travel it is probably the first time in history that a virus has spread all over the world this fast.
Just a couple things to remember:
Please, please, please!!!! DO NOT! And I repeat, DO NOT! SELL ANY STOCKS, MUTUAL FUNDS, OR ANYTHING ELSE THAT IS DICTATED BY WALL STREET!!! You do not “lose” anything when the market is down UNTIL YOU SELL! So most all of these people freaking out about recessions, and the market dive because of the corona virus, does not mean a thing unless you sell and or the company goes out of business. I am not saying that there is no chance for loss, that would be untrue in general because there is ALWAYS a chance of risk/loss in any investment. I’m just saying a lot of people freaked out and sold all their investments back in 2008 when the market dropped out last time and the economy came back stronger than ever. So those people lost everything! If anything invest in mutual funds while the market is low and reap the benefits when the market comes back up. That’s all I have to say about this…
Stop hording! It does no one any good. There will be more toilet paper, there will be more brown rice, there will be more alcohol! It is already made for the most part, everyone hording and trying to buy truck loads of certain items just means that there is not any for people who actually need it. They are not going to close stores, just get what you need to survive for a few weeks, and let the distribution chain work the way it is suppose to to replenish the shelves.
Take care out there, and WASH YOUR HANDS…A LOT! PLEASE!!!
Howard
